What is Webosaurs?

Webosaurs is a virtual world where players can create and customize their own dinosaur avatars, make friends, play games, decorate their own dino cave, and even learn about dinosaurs from one of the world's most respected wildlife experts Nigel Marven.
Is it safe?
As part of our commitment to creating a safe online environment for children and their families, Webosaurs offers two chat options:

Safe Chat limits what players can say to a predefined menu of greetings, questions and statements, plus emotes. Players using the Safe Chat mode can only view chat from other players using Safe Chat.

Open Chat allows a player to chat with other players by using words from the Webosaurs dictionary. Any words your child types that are not allowed will be replaced with three dots. When this happens your child should choose another word, or check the spelling of the word they are trying to use.

Because it is still possible for allowed words to be combined in an unsafe way we have filters in place to alert us to the use of phrases that may ask for or contain a phone number or other personally-identifying information. Numbers are never allowed in Webosaurs.
Webosaurs employs highly experienced and trained on-site staff to monitor activity and chat as well as receive behavior reports from players in real time. The accounts of players who engage in inappropriate chat or conduct will be addressed accordingly. If a player's behavior is deemed inappropriate an email notification will be sent to the parent's email address.
Can I determine who my child can and cannot chat with?
A parent cannot modify who a child can chat with. We encourage you to participate with your child in Webosaurs and to teach them to use the features available to them, including the Friends List and the Ignore feature.
What is the Parent Area for?

The Parent Area of Webosaurs is available to all Webosaurs parents and is designed for your access, information and peace of mind. This is where you can edit settings on your child's account or monitor your child's activity in Webosaurs, or delete their Webosaurs account.

The parent email will be the linking factor between the child and parent accounts. Therefore, all child accounts set up using one parent email will be accessed through the parent area for the parent account associated with that email address.

When your child sets up an account, they may enter an email address that is not your email; so please be sure to assist your child with account creation.

What settings can I control from the Parent Area?

The Parent Area allows you to configure the following settings for your child's Webosaurs account:

  • Edit your child's Webosaurs chat setting. The default setting is Safe Chat, where your child may only chat by choosing options from a drop-down menu. The other method is Open Chat, where all chat is filtered through our in-world dictionary. Words your child enters that are not allowed will not be displayed.
  • Cancel your child's Webosaurs account
  • Renew your child's Webosaurs subscription
  • Update or change the billing information
  • Add money to your child's Webosaurs allowance
  • Temporarily disable your child's Webosaurs account for a specified period - by week, day or month
Can I determine the amount of Coins my child can spend in Webosaurs?
It is not possible to modify the amount of virtual money your child can spend. We encourage you to set realistic real money limits and discuss your expectations with your child. This is an opportunity to help teach your child about the value of money, priorities and limits.
Can I delete my child's Webosaurs account?
Yes. You may cancel your child's account free to play account and/or Premium Membership account at any time. However, once a subscription has been purchased (activated) or micro-transaction payment has been made the monies are non-refundable.
Does Webosaurs work on every computer?
Webosaurs will run on a wide range of PCs. The game's design is scalable so that players can enjoy amazing 3-D graphics and innovative game play, even if their computer isn't a high-end gaming model. Specific system requirements can be found here. We strive to provide all potential players the ability to access the world.
What happens when my child reports another player?
All user reports are reviewed by our team of experienced and trained professional moderators who will check the logs and verify the activity. If the report is verified, the appropriate action will be taken against the misbehaving player's account. You can view a history of the reports your child sends by clicking on the link on your Webosaurs home page. This link will also show how many times your child has reported bad. If the reported player behaves for 60 days the information is no longer displayed.
Why is my child's Webosaurs account suspended?
It could be that we have received and verified a behavior report about your child, and felt the best course of action was to suspend their Webosaurs account. If this is the case you should have received an email from us.If you did not receive a notification about your child's account, it could also be that the email address you provided when you registered in the Parent Area is incorrect or no longer valid. If this is the case please return to the Parent Area and provide your correct email address.
What action is taken against a misbehaving player?
Depending on the severity of the offense and the player's behavior history, several options can be used. A moderator may visit and educate the player, send a note to the player and/or suspend their account activity for a duration of time. The most severe and/or persistent violations will result in a permanent suspension of their Webosaurs account.
What happens if the report is not verified?
We realize that kids are kids, and that some players might report another player just to ‘get them in trouble'. These false reports take the moderators' time away from assisting other players and reviewing reports that may impact the safety of another player. Because we take the safety of all our players very seriously, we will not tolerate false reports.
What is the Wish list?
The Wish List is a list of items your child has tagged as something they would like to have from the Webosaurs store. Your child's Webosaurs Wish List is included in the monthly report sent to the email address associated with the account. If you choose to purchase the item/s for your child you can do so by clicking on the provided link. The link will route you to the Parent area where you can view and purchase items from your child's Wish List, including a ‘gift card' you can personalize for your child. The purchase will be automatically billed to the payment method you have associated to the Webosaurs account.
How will my child know I bought them a gift?
When they login to Webosaurs they will have a notification via our in-game messaging system. This message will inform them that they have received a gift, and display the personalized message you created.
